DAY 3: FRIDAY – BACK TO THE JUNGLE – TO THE CHILDREN

The goodness and caring from so many was overwhelming and inspiring! What I want to convey to all who assisted with this effort – YOUR contribution – no matter what you provided – DID MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE! We were able to touch so many lives!
What continues to strike me so deeply - the absolute joy provided to all of the children. Each and every one of them LOVED the backpack – they did not immediately begin rummaging through the backpack to know the contents. Instead, it was important to put the backpack ‘on’ – they owned this new and precious item; very touching.
William mentioned over and over that THIS FILLED BACKPACK would be THE biggest thing that would happen to them all year. One has to realize – their lives are all quite simple … no birthday gifts or other celebratory items. Still, these children continue to smile.
